About us

About us

My name is Puneet Chawla from The Ontario Employment Agency Inc. We have been in the business for a great many years. This is a family business and we take a great deal of pride in what we do. In those years we have gained a lot of knowledge in how the Foreign Live in Caregiver program can be very beneficial to both the employee and the employer we would like to share this information with you. If you or a friend or relative is interested in coming to Canada as a foreign live in caregiver we hope we can help.

Some of us want to make changes in our lives, but we are not sure how to make them happen. The Ontario Employment Agency Inc. has helped many people to come to Canada as live in caregivers. These are people who want to make a change, and they have done it with our help. Our agency prides itself on helping people help others. When you come to Canada as a foreign live in caregiver you are not only helping families who need help, but are also helping your self to a better future.

The Program

Canadians are very hardworking caring people who want to make sure they can provide the very best they possibly can for the people they love. In most cases caregivers are required for children, but also for the elderly, or someone with special needs.

There is a recognition that within Canada, there is a labor market need for live in caregivers. It is also recognized that generally there are insufficient Canadians or Permanent Residents available to fill these positions. In response to this, the live in caregiver program was established. A live in caregiver is someone who provides continuous, full time, unsupervised care of children, the elderly or disabled in a private household. A mandatory component of the program is that the employee must live in the employer¡¯s home.

The live in caregiver program permits professional caregivers to seek employment in Canada. It also permits these live in caregivers to seek permanent residence in Canada after working as a live in caregiver under the program for at least two years.

A professional is defined by having the equivalent to a Canadian secondary school education meaning a minimum of twelve years of schooling,

i. successful completion of six months of full time training in a classroom setting.

ii. completion of one year of full time paid employment, including at least six months of continuous employment with one employer, in that field or occupation within the three years immediately prior to the day on which the person submits an application for an employment authorization to a visa officer;

iii. have the ability to speak, read and understand English at a level sufficient to communicate effectively in an unsupervised setting. Meaning you must be able to speak read and write English fluently.

These two qualifications must be recognized by the Canadian Embassy in order to apply.

Another very important factor is that you must have a clean bill of health, because when you apply as a Caregiver a Medical examination is required therefore it is very important that you be honest in reporting any physical problems you may have had in the past or currently, that way we can consult with you to determine weather or not this would be an issue with the Canadian Embassy.
